Lower Slaughter

On Sunday we headed up to Lower Slaughter for the morning for a potter around the most gorgeous Cotswold Village.

It wasn’t as full of tourists as expected on a sunny autumnal Sunday, so was absolutely perfect to visit with the dogs. There is a shallow stream running through the centre of the village; the main attraction for tourists, artists & of course paddling spaniels. Surrounding the stream are the most gorgeous Cotswold Stone cottages [Definitely house goals!].

There are a couple of small bridges as well as the old mill, perfect for photo opportunities! The dogs were posing like superstars whilst I photographed them, there was quite a crowd gathering and admiring them [Some tourists were even joining me in taking photos of them]. I absolutely love that whichever tourist attraction we visit in the Cotswolds, tourists come up and take photos of them posing.

Of course the dogs couldn’t not have a paddle, and obviously I joined them. Some horses even joined us as they trotted through the stream. I then had to dry two soggy spaniels so they weren’t so cold and wet for us to go and have lunch. Wilma soon warmed up in her Ruff and Tumbles drying coat.

We finished off our mini trip in The Slaughters Country Inn for a light lunch. This was dog friendly and the staff were brilliant, even giving the dogs extra fusses. This is also a dog friendly hotel so if you’re ever looking to stay in the area this is the perfect place to stop with your dogs!

We hope you enjoyed this mini Cotswold trip, it’s definitely on our list of favourites. Let us know if you have been or plan on visiting!
