Tetbury

We are surrounded by beautiful Cotswold towns and villages, so I thought we’d share another of our dog friendly trips.

The small town of Tetbury is a lovely place to visit for a spot of lunch or a coffee. There a so many little shops tucked away, as well as a huge range of antique shops for any of you that are interested. The rows of Cotswold houses are so beautiful & definitely Instagram worthy!

It’s lovely to pop over to Tetbury for a drink or bite to eat with the dogs in tow, so I thought we’d share two of our favourite dog friendly spots.

The Blue Zucchini

This is our go to spot, they have a wonderful lunch spot and they’re very welcoming to dogs. You know it’s good when they’ve got a big tub of dog treats & this time the waitress brought over a handful to spoil the dogs. They’ve got a great lunch menu, or a selection of cakes if you’d prefer. The staff are so kind and friendly and in the summer [if we ever get one] there’s a lovely courtyard you can sit in.

Cafe 53

This cafe has a lighter interior meaning it’s a bit more ‘Instagrammable’ if you’re worried about that. And the food is just as good! Again this has a courtyard for those warmer months, but I’ve not yet discovered any dog treats available. They also have really good smoothies that i’d definitely recommend.

If you’re staying in or close to Tetbury there is so much to do in the area. As well as the other Cotswold attractions, nearby is Westonbirt Arboretum. This is a beautiful spot for a dog walk, especially in the Autumn months.

As with most of the villages around here Tetbury has a really steep hill. This is where the Tetbury Woolsack race takes place every year on the last bank holiday in May. Historically Tetbury was a wool market. So to celebrate this and raise money for charity people run up and down the hill in teams, each carrying a huge heavy bag of wool on their back. It sounds like such a strange attraction but really is good fun to watch.

Have you visited Tetbury before? Or is it on your list of go to Cotswold destinations?
