Christmas Gift Guide 2o23

We’re bringing back our Christmas gift guide this year full of fantastic products for dogs and dog lovers.

LG Leatherworks leather dog Collars and Leads

Having owned one of Louise’s leather dog collars for a few years I am excited to have all 3 dogs in a matching set; even better that they’re in coordinating festive colours.

Available in Red or Green the Brindle Leather Dog collar is a staple in a dog’s accessory collection. Handmade in her Somerset studio the leather is easy to clean with a quick wipe down after muddy walks.

However you can’t just have a collar, even better is a matching set with the Bridle Leather Dog Lead. All eyes will be on you walking down the road with a coordinating red or green set. The soft leather handle is finished with solid brass hardware that resists rust [Bonus if you live by the sea!].

Add the finishing touch by carrying your poo bags in style with the Leather Poo Bag holder that attaches to the handle of the lead.

Brindle Leather Dog Collar from £34.
Brindle Leather Dog lead £40.
Leather Poo Bag holder £30.

Ralph & Co Herringbone Tweed Dog Bed

An ideal addition to your home in the winter is a cosy dog bed from Ralph & Co for your dogs to snuggle up in after a long walk.

With a Herringbone Tweed outer fabric to coordinate with any interior, then the softest faux fur lining where your dogs sleep.

It’s machine washable and lightweight, easy to take with you when visiting friends and family over the festive period so your dogs always have a familiar piece of home to settle on.

Herringbone Tweed Dog Bed from £55.99 [My dogs are using a Large which is £119.99]

Scrumbles Dog Advent Calendar

Now it wouldn’t be Christmas without an advent calendar! Of course my dogs don’t quite understand what an advent calendar is, but every December they love the new routine of a bonus treat each day.

Suitable for puppies over 8 weeks, Wyn is excited to join in for her first year of festivities. Plus the advent calendar contains 3 different types of treats so it’s not the same every day.

Scrumbles Dog Advent Calendar £8

Laura Wright Cockapoo Coaster

I may be biased but this is my favourite coaster in the world. Mainly because the Cockapoo drawing is actually Wilma that the talented Laura drew.

The coaster is thick stone which means with the weight of it it doesn’t fly off the coffee table [If Wyn accidentally launches herself at it] or it doesn’t stick to the bottom of your slightly damp coffee cup as you drink from it.

If you don’t have a dog the same colour or breed as Wilma don’t worry as Laura has a collection of coasters and other products with different dog breeds and colours of those breeds so there’s something for everyone!

Cockapoo Coaster £8.50

Nuts for Pets Pooch Butter

You’ll probably have heard online how Peanut Butter is a great snack to use on your dogs enrichment toys. However many can contain xylitol which is poisonous to dogs. However I know my dogs are safe with the Nuts for Pets Pooch butter crafted specifically for dogs.

You can go for their classic pooch butter, or I use ‘The Gold One’ which also contains Turmeric which makes it even better! There are so many ways you can feed the Pooch Butter – fill your dogs Kong toys, spread on licki mats, use it in dog friendly baking recipes. Remember you can make it more of a challenge for your dogs by spreading it in their toys and then freezing them, it takes them even longer to enjoy it.

However you choose to use it I’m sure your dogs are going to LOVE it!

The Original Poochbutter £4.99
The Gold One £4.99

PetSafe Teach and Treat Remote Reward Trainer

Anyone can take an interest in training their dogs at home. Whether it’s for a particular sport like Dog Agility or Gundog training, or you’d like to enjoy a more obedient dog at home; this remote reward trainer is a great piece of kit to help you.

Start by filling up the main compartment with tasty dog biscuits, you can then set the trainer up at a distance from you. The aim is when you press the button on the remote in your hand the trainer will make a sound and release a treat for your dog to eat.

Where would this come in useful? For my own dogs I use this in agility training. If we’re training something like the weaves or contacts and I want my dog to run ahead and be rewarded instead of running back to me. So once they have completed that piece of equipment correctly I can press the button and they learn to run ahead and get their prize. It’s the same theory at home; if I want them to wait on their beds when someone rings the door I can train them that if they stay they get rewarded with food without me being stood next to them.

It comes with different disks to release different sizes of treats, you can change the volume if your dog isn’t comfortable with the sound, as well as adjusting the frequency of treats being dispersed if you want that setting. All contained in a neat cube, you’ll find most agility handlers have one of these in their car ready to train when they want!

PetSafe Teach and Treat Remote Reward Trainer £147.69

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful Christmas,
